Turkey and Libya sign labor and employment cooperation agreement

Turkey and the Libyan Government of National Unity have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the fields of labor and employment. The agreement aims to enhance the exchange of information, expertise, and policies between the two nations.

Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan met with Libya’s Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, to finalize the pact. Key areas of collaboration include vocational training, employment, occupational health and safety, and social security.

A joint working commission will be established to develop action plans and roadmaps to further institutionalize the relationship. Minister Işıkhan noted that this agreement follows previous discussions, including meetings held during the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Labour Ministers Conference in Doha.
