Turkey and Netherlands Issue Yellow Alerts for Heavy Thunderstorms

Turkey’s Meteorology General Directorate and the Interior Ministry issued yellow‑code warnings for six southwestern provinces—Isparta, Burdur, interior Antalya, southern‑eastern Denizli, southern Afyonkarahisar and southwestern Konya—alerting residents to sudden floods, water‑inundation, lightning and strong winds. Authorities urged precautions for traffic, agriculture and vulnerable structures such as basements and riverbeds.

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) released a yellow alarm covering eight provinces—Groningen, Drenthe, Flevoland, Overijssel, Gelderland, Utrecht, Limburg and North Brabant—foreseeing thunderstorm‑laden rain, possible hail and brief strong gusts that could disrupt transport and daily activities. The alert is set for midday through the evening, with advice to carry umbrellas and drive carefully.
