Turkey is implementing major agricultural reforms and infrastructure projects to bolster food security and economic growth. Agriculture Minister İbrahim Yumaklı announced that plant production is expected to exceed 140 million tons in 2026, a record for the country. Additionally, Turkey's agricultural revenue reached $83.2 billion by the end of 2025, moving the nation to 7th place in global agricultural revenue rankings.

To support this sector, a $5.3 billion financing program has been launched in partnership with the World Bank, intended to span 10 years. The first $750 million installment has been approved to assist agricultural businesses and producer organizations in improving efficiency and market access.

On the infrastructure front, significant investments are being made in water and irrigation. In Edirne, approximately 73 billion lira has been invested in water and irrigation over the last 24 years. The Çömlekköy Dam is currently under construction and is slated for completion in 2028.

In terms of agricultural diplomacy, Turkey has strengthened ties with China, Germany, and Russia. Minister Yumaklı noted that recent negotiations with Russia successfully resolved a crisis regarding tomatoes being held at the border.
