Turkey announces 2026-2027 school breaks and 2027 public holidays

The Turkish Ministry of National Education has released the mid-term break schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year. The first break is scheduled from November 16 to November 20, 2026, while the second break will take place from March 8 to March 12, 2027. Including weekends, both periods provide students with nine days of rest.

Additionally, the official public holiday calendar for 2027 has been announced. Notable features include several long weekends due to holidays falling on Fridays or Mondays, such as New Year's Day and Victory Day. A unique occurrence will happen in May 2027, when the fourth day of Eid al-Adha coincides with the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
