Turkey announces 2026-2027 academic calendar and exam dates

The 2026-2027 academic calendar and examination schedules for Turkish educational institutions have been announced. For the general school year, primary, middle, and high school students are scheduled to begin classes on September 14, 2026. Preschool and first-grade students will participate in an orientation program from September 7 to September 11, 2026.

The first semester will conclude on January 22, 2027, followed by a mid-term break from January 25 to February 5, 2027. The second semester begins on February 8, 2027, and the academic year will end on June 25, 2027.

Regarding the Open Education High School (AÖL), additional exams are scheduled to take place between August 22 and August 31, 2026, via e-exam centers. These exams are specifically available to students who have not yet graduated from AÖL but have earned the right to enroll in a higher education institution through exams such as YKS, MSÜ, or YÖS.
