Turkey announces 2026 irrigation facility fee tariffs

A Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette has established the 2026 irrigation facility operation and maintenance fee tariffs in Turkey, effective January 1, 2026. The rates apply to facilities operated by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and various contractor-operated sites across numerous provinces, including Erzurum, Elazığ, Şanlıurfa, Tokat, Erzincan, Edirne, Kayseri, Antalya, Burdur, Sivas, Muğla, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, Karabük, and Çanakkale.

For 30 different categories, including various plant types and greenhouses, maintenance fees will range from 149 lira to 3,428 lira per decare. Water costs per 1,000 cubic meters will range between 200 lira and 1,104 lira. Fees are determined based on the growing period of each plant; if a new crop is planted in the same plot after the previous one is harvested, separate fees will apply for each.

Discounts are available under specific conditions: a 20 percent reduction applies to subsequent crops planted in the same plot within a year, provided the previous crop was irrigated. Additionally, farmers using their own motor pumps for irrigation, including sprinkler and drip systems, will receive a 50 percent discount on operation and maintenance fees.
