Formula 1 announces return to Portugal and Turkey for 2027 season

The FIA and FOM have announced the 2027 Formula 1 calendar, which includes the return of the Turkish and Portuguese Grands Prix.

The Portugal Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from June 18 to 20, 2027. This marks the end of a six-year absence for the event. Tickets are set to go on sale starting September 21, with general admission estimated to begin around €300 for the weekend. André Gomes, head of Turismo do Algarve, noted that the mid-June timing was specifically chosen to precede the peak summer tourist season.

Additionally, Formula 1 will return to Istanbul Park for the Turkish Grand Prix in 2027. The circuit, which previously hosted races between 2005 and 2011 and served as a replacement venue during the pandemic, is set to rejoin the official calendar.
