Turkey banks raise ATM minimum withdrawal to 100 lira

Turkish banks have altered ATM cash‑dispensing configurations, removing 10, 20 and 50 TL notes and loading machines primarily with 100 TL and 200 TL banknotes. As a result, withdrawals below the lowest available denomination are rejected, forcing customers to request amounts that are multiples of the smallest note in the machine (e.g., 200 TL, 400 TL, etc.).

The change is driven by limited cassette capacity, rising demand for high‑value cash, and the desire to lower operating costs and encourage the use of cards or mobile‑payment methods. The new technical setup is being rolled out gradually across ATM networks of multiple banks in Turkey.
