Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia deepen regional partnership at Istanbul foreign ministers summit

Foreign ministers of Turkey (Hakan Fidan), Azerbaijan (Ceyhun Bayramov) and Georgia (Maka Botchorishvili) met in Istanbul for the 10th trilateral gathering. The meeting focused on diplomatic initiatives concerning the US‑Iran dialogue, the Russia‑Ukraine war and broader regional security challenges.

The ministers issued an Istanbul Declaration that underlines long‑standing friendship, good neighbourliness, mutual respect and the inviolability of each country's sovereignty and borders. It calls for intensified cooperation in political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological fields, and a joint response to terrorism, trans‑national organized crime, cyber attacks and hybrid threats.

Key projects highlighted include the Baku‑Tbilisi‑Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku‑Tbilisi‑Kars railway and the Hazar East‑West corridor, as well as expanded green‑energy and low‑carbon initiatives. The declaration stresses the strategic importance of transport and energy linkages for regional integration and European energy security.
