Turkey blocks critical online posts ahead of NATO summit

Two weeks before the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkish authorities ordered the removal of several online platforms that criticised the meeting. A court ordered the site "NATODefol" – meaning "NATO out" – and the online petition site "NATO ya Hayir" ("No to NATO") to be blocked, citing concerns for national security and public order.

The actions occurred as President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently opened a former military airport for civilian traffic, part of broader preparations for the summit. The censorship reflects the government's tightened control over social‑media and web content in recent years.
