Turkey boosts technical education through vocational fair and university‑industry training programs

In Niğde, the Provincial Ministry of National Education organized the METEF 2026 Vocational and Technical Education Fair, where vocational schools showcased student projects in areas such as electronics, IT, automotive technology, food services, health, and educational technology. Provincial Education Director Elif Özbek emphasized the fair’s role in linking students to career pathways and strengthening school‑industry collaboration, while Mayor Emrah Özdemir highlighted the importance of skilled youth for the national economy.

Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya expanded its industry‑linked curriculum through the Aday Mühendislik program, placing senior students in partner firms and reporting an 86% overall employment rate, with 100% placement at HAVELSAN and 70% at TÜRKSAT. The university also involved students in satellite and rocket projects, including the Puhu CubeSat and the Kapsül Bozdoğan rocket team, and provided dedicated research facilities at Seydişehir and Ereğli campuses. Both initiatives aim to produce a qualified technical workforce for Turkey’s growing industry sector.
