Turkey expands road works and traffic controls across multiple provinces

The Turkish General Directorate of Highways (KGM) released bulletins detailing ongoing construction, maintenance and repair on highways throughout the country. Projects include lane closures on the Ankara‑Niğde Otoyolu, night‑time repairs on the TEM Otoyolu viaduct, divided‑lane works on routes near Antalya, Muğla and Gaziantep, and controlled traffic on sections of the Samsun‑Ankara, Ordu‑Gölköy and Bursa‑İnegöl corridors. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, obey signs and expect temporary diversions.

Municipal authorities are also carrying out extensive upgrades. Kocaeli’s Büyükşehir Belediyesi is rebuilding the Santral Ramp and redesigning a busy intersection in Başiskele with a new roundabout and rain‑water drainage. Foça Municipality in İzmir is paving Değirmendere Caddesi in Yenifoça, while the Iğdır provincial administration completed 7.5 km of a 19 km hot‑asphalt road in Tuzluca. Kahramanmaraş’s Büyükşehir Belediyesi is adding a 4,000 m² pedestrian walkway to Nursultan Nazarbayev Boulevard. Similar projects are under way in Tepebaşı, Trabzon, Bursa‑İnegöl, and Inegöl, where rural streets are receiving new pavement and stone‑paving upgrades. Yahyalı’s İsmet Mahallesi also began hot‑asphalt works after completing underground utilities and modern lighting.

All projects aim to improve traffic safety, reduce congestion and provide more comfortable, durable road surfaces for motorists and pedestrians across Turkey.
