Turkey commemorates Veterans Day with ceremonies and marches

Various ceremonies and marches were held in Turkey to commemorate Veterans Day, marking the anniversary of when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was awarded the title of Marshal and Gazi by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

In Niksar, officials including District Governor Kadir Perçi and Garrison Commander Major Süleyman Öztürk participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk bust. Representatives from the Türkiye Harp Malulü Gaziler Şehit Dul ve Yetimler Derneği emphasized that veterans serve as the living memory and honor of the nation. The event included a march to Kentpark Facilities and a commemorative meal.

In Karşıyaka, the municipality and the Muharip Gaziler Derneği organized a respect march starting from Hergele Square. The procession included local officials, military commanders, and veterans. Following the march, a musical performance of heroic songs was held to honor the country's heroes.
