Turkey condemns Israeli disinformation, highlights military rise

The Turkish Foreign Ministry released a written statement accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies of deliberately distorting criticism and running a systematic propaganda campaign. The ministry described recent Israeli allegations as part of a disinformation operation that no longer convinces the international public and cannot hide Israel’s actions in Gaza.

An article in Israel Hayom praised Turkey’s performance at the recent NATO summit in Ankara, noting its army of 355,000 active personnel and 378,000 reserves, rapid growth in its defence industry, and ambition to become a regional and possibly global power. Dr. Assa Ophir, a scholar of Middle‑East affairs, said Turkey is seeking to rewrite the strategic order, surpassing the combined defence spending of its neighbours and positioning itself as a decisive strategic partner within NATO.
