Turkey conducts major cybercrime and financial fraud operations
Turkish authorities have conducted extensive operations targeting cybercrime, illegal betting, and financial fraud across multiple provinces. In a recent sweep covering 18 provinces, law enforcement detained 77 suspects, resulting in 37 arrests and 17 individuals being placed under judicial control. The operations addressed crimes including unauthorized access to mobile banking, child obscenity, and money laundering. Additionally, AI-supported monitoring identified 447 accounts linked to terrorist organizations such as FETÖ/PDY, PKK/KCK, and ISIS.
In a separate major crackdown on economic crimes, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced operations in 11 provinces involving Istanbul, Antalya, and Gaziantep. These investigations targeted Dinamikpay Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A. Ş. for its alleged role in illegal betting and money laundering, noting the company had a transfer volume of approximately 17.9 billion TL between 2024 and 2025. Authorities seized the company and blocked 126 bank and cryptocurrency accounts.
Furthermore, investigations in Antalya revealed a scheme involving the illegal transfer of Treasury properties, with 27 suspects detained. The economic value of the 80 investigated properties is estimated at approximately 10 billion TL. In Istanbul, social media influencer Rıdvan Çelik was among four individuals arrested for promoting illegal casino and betting content.
