Turkey conducts land consolidation on 52,000 hectares in Kars and Ardahan

The State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) is conducting land consolidation and field development projects covering 52,000 hectares in the Kars and Ardahan provinces of Turkey. A technical delegation led by Fatma Tüz Zehra Gülsever, Deputy Head of the Land Consolidation and Field Development Services Department, recently inspected the sites to evaluate progress.

In Kars, the project focuses on the Arpaçay Plain, covering approximately 22,000 hectares across 22 settlements. This initiative aims to organize agricultural lands for better efficiency, improve field transportation, and enhance the effectiveness of irrigation services. Additionally, work is being carried out on 3,000 hectares involving five settlements under the Arpaçay Koçköy Dam and Irrigation project.

In Ardahan, the scope includes approximately 27,000 hectares across 29 settlements. The inspections involved reviewing technical implementation and discussing solutions for field challenges with contractors. Once completed, these projects are expected to strengthen the agricultural production infrastructure for a total of 56 settlements.
