Turkey conducts multi-province operation against information leakage

Turkish authorities have launched a large-scale operation across 12 provinces to investigate the leakage of sensitive information to criminal organizations. The investigation, led by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, focuses on links between public officials and crime syndicates.

Law enforcement actions were carried out simultaneously in Istanbul, Muğla, Bursa, Edirne, Çanakkale, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Diyarbakır, İzmir, Balıkesir, Ankara, and Kayseri. Out of 50 suspects identified for detention, 37 have been taken into custody. The group of suspects includes 10 police officers, 15 customs enforcement officers, one deputy customs enforcement manager, one clerk, two probation officers, and two lawyers.

Investigators are examining allegations that these officials provided access to criminal records, arrest warrants, Interpol red notices, vehicle queries, and customs transit data in exchange for benefits. Financial investigations conducted by MASAK and bank records revealed significant transaction volumes, including one suspect, Serkan Cemal G., who reportedly moved approximately 5.4 billion Turkish Lira between various personal accounts.
