Turkey cracks down on meth trafficking, seizing 339 kg liquid meth and arresting smugglers

Turkish police forces from Istanbul and Sakarya conducted simultaneous raids that uncovered approximately 339 kg of liquid methamphetamine hidden in concealed containers. The operation targeted several homes, businesses, a trailer and a truck, resulting in five individuals being taken into custody and charged with drug manufacturing and trafficking.

In a separate case at Istanbul Airport, security officers detained a 51‑year‑old Iranian passenger after he displayed suspicious behavior and difficulty walking. Medical examination revealed 26 capsules hidden in his stomach, containing a total of 380 g of methamphetamine. The man was arrested, later sentenced by a court and placed in prison.

Both incidents illustrate Turkey's intensified efforts to combat narcotics smuggling and disrupt drug‑trafficking networks within the country.
