Turkey reports significant growth in textile and egg exports
Turkey has seen substantial growth in several key export sectors during the January-September period. In the Southeast Anatolia region, textile exports reached $2.71 billion, with fabric exports leading the category at $731 million. Iraq remains the top destination for regional textile products, followed by the United Kingdom and Syria.
The egg export sector experienced a 54% increase, rising to $418.6 million. This growth is attributed to domestic dynamics and shifts in global poultry trade caused by bird flu outbreaks in the United States and several European countries, which has increased demand for Turkish products in markets like the Netherlands, Poland, and Greece.
Additionally, the harvest of satsuma mandarins has begun in İzmir's Menderes district, with export permissions granted following quality inspections. Officials noted a projected 12% increase in yield compared to last year, highlighting the fruit's significant economic value.
