Turkey enacts 2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan
Turkey has officially launched its 2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, a strategic roadmap designed to position the country as a competitive global player in AI technology. Enacted via a Presidential Circular, the plan is built upon four pillars: ‘Recognize, Utilize, Produce, and Manage.’
Economically, the initiative aims to generate over 1 trillion lira in value and mobilize 10 billion dollars in private sector investment. To support this growth, the government intends to train 10,000 advanced AI specialists and 100,000 application professionals.
A National Artificial Intelligence Board will be established to oversee governance, resource allocation, and ethical guidelines. This board will operate under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the Ministry of Industry and Technology serving as the secretariat. The board will also publish an annual ‘National AI Policy Letter’ to guide investors and the public.
At the local level, municipalities such as Şahinbey are already contributing to the national vision. The Şahinbey Municipality Technology Academy has provided AI-related training, including Python coding and machine learning, to approximately 400 students to prepare the youth for future technological demands.
