Turkey energy revenues support 185,000 youths and oil production

Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced that 3,500 young workers are currently involved in high-quality oil production in the Gabar region. Bayraktar noted that the area, once marked by conflict, is now a site of economic hope and energy production. He emphasized Turkey's ongoing efforts to achieve energy independence through domestic exploration in the Mediterranean and the Sakarya Gas Field.

Additionally, Bayraktar highlighted the social impact of energy revenues. A total of 21.9 billion lira from oil, natural gas, and mining revenues has been transferred to the Family and Youth Fund. This funding has supported more than 185,000 young people in establishing households. Of the total funds, 12.1 billion lira originated from mining, while 9.8 billion lira came from petroleum and natural gas. The Minister also defended the construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, noting that nuclear energy is a standard practice across Europe.
