Türkiye launches 2026–2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan

Türkiye is implementing a comprehensive 2026–2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan to establish regional leadership and shape global technical standards. Coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the strategy focuses on three main pillars: international diplomacy, infrastructure accessibility, and talent development.

In terms of diplomacy, Türkiye aims to sign framework agreements with at least five countries and memoranda of understanding with three international institutions by late 2027. The nation intends to participate actively in global governance through the UN, G20, OECD, and UNESCO, while seeking mutual recognition for its AI products in target markets.

To support domestic innovation, the “GPU for Everyone” program will provide high-performance computing resources to startups, SMEs, and researchers. This initiative will pool capacity from accredited local data centers and national infrastructures like TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. The program aims to increase annual allocations to at least 20 million GPU-hours by the end of 2028.

Additionally, the country is launching a massive talent drive, targeting the training of 10,000 AI specialists and 100,000 application professionals by 2028. This effort will be highlighted at the upcoming GITEX Ai Türkiye event in Istanbul, which serves as a hub for connecting local talent with global capital and expertise.
