Turkey expands sports infrastructure in Kayseri and Trabzon

Turkey is expanding its sports infrastructure through significant investments in Kayseri and Trabzon. In Kayseri, construction is nearing completion on a 17,500-square-meter international athletics track at the Erciyes High Altitude Camp Center. Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç noted that the facility is designed to meet all athletics disciplines and will complement existing assets, including UEFA-standard football pitches and an Olympic swimming pool.

In Trabzon, officials held a meeting at the Turkey Olympic Preparation Center to evaluate ongoing and planned youth and sports investments. The city currently maintains 103 active sports facilities and supports over 83,000 licensed athletes. New initiatives focus on expanding youth centers, increasing the number of 'Young Office' projects for university students, and continuing talent identification programs for primary school students.
