Turkey expands trade diplomacy network to 115 countries to boost exports

Turkey has increased its overseas trade diplomacy presence to 115 countries, deploying 235 trade counselors and attachés across 170 offices, including three permanent missions. The expanded network aims to diversify export markets, support Turkish exporters, and help achieve new export records under the “Distant Countries Strategy.”

The workforce is concentrated in Europe, with 80 representatives in 35 countries (34% of staff), followed by 38 in the Asia‑Pacific (16%), 32 in the Middle East (13%), 28 in Sub‑Saharan Africa (12%), 21 covering Central Asia and the South Caucasus (9%), 14 in North America (6%), 11 in South America (5%), 9 in North Africa (4%) and 2 in Australia (1%). The effort focuses on G20 economies and fast‑growing emerging markets, assisting companies with market access, regulatory navigation and partnership building.
