Turkey experiences flash floods in Erzurum and Adana
Severe heavy rainfall and flash flooding have impacted multiple regions in Turkey, specifically affecting the Erzurum and Adana provinces.
In the Köprüköy district of Erzurum, sudden torrential rains caused flooding in the Dumankaya neighborhood. Water flowing from mountainous and high-altitude areas converged, turning streets into rivers and making roads impassable. Following yellow code warnings from the 12th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, residents experienced significant disruption as floodwaters swept through the community.
Similarly, in the Tufanbeyli district of Adana, intense rainfall lasting approximately 30 minutes caused streets to flood and water to enter the ground floors of several buildings. Residents were seen attempting to evacuate the accumulated water from their homes using buckets. Authorities continue to warn citizens about potential further flooding and transportation disruptions as adverse weather conditions persist.
