Turkey salary increases: 2027 projections for retirees and civil servants

Calculations for January 2027 salary increases for Turkish civil servants and retirees have begun following the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye's upward revision of its year-end inflation forecast from 26% to 28%. Additionally, the Market Participants Survey indicates a year-end inflation expectation of 29.43%.

Based on these economic indicators, experts have provided several scenarios for salary adjustments. For SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the increase is expected to range between 8.5% and 10.5%. Specifically, a 28% year-end inflation scenario suggests an 8.7% raise, while a 29.43% scenario could result in an increase of approximately 9.91%.

Civil servants and civil servant retirees face a different calculation involving collective bargaining and inflation differences. Projections suggest a raise between 6.5% and 8%. Under a 28% inflation scenario, the increase is estimated at 6.67%, while a 29.43% inflation rate could push the raise to 7.86%. If the higher inflation scenario occurs, the lowest civil servant salary is projected to exceed 75,000 TL.
