Turkey intensifies traffic inspections, fines over 2,500 drivers in Niğde and Gaziantep

Police and gendarmerie units in Niğde examined 36,986 vehicles and drivers, issuing 1,699 administrative fines and banning 172 vehicles for violations such as speeding, seat‑belt and helmet non‑use, license and inspection defects, and missing insurance.

In Gaziantep, TAG highway checks conducted with drone support during June inspected 106,598 vehicles, resulting in 1,864 fines for speeding, phone use, seat‑belt neglect, lane violations and other breaches, and processed 24,748 identity checks. The operations aim to boost road safety and prevent accidents.
