Turkey gendarmerie conducts tractor safety training in Yozgat, Turgutlu
The Turkish Gendarmerie held safety briefings for tractor drivers in the Yozgat province and in Dağyeniköy, a neighbourhood of Turgutlu district. Participants were instructed on the use of rollover protection systems (ROPS), seat belts, and the importance of reflectors and yellow flashing lights to improve vehicle visibility, especially in low‑light and foggy conditions.
The training also covered basic traffic rules such as speed limits, load restrictions, hitch checks, and vehicle maintenance, and warned against carrying passengers on agricultural equipment. Reflectors were distributed to farmers as part of a "Reflektör Tak Görünür Ol" (Put on a reflector, be visible) initiative. Officials emphasized the goal of zero traffic accidents on rural roads.
The outreach reflects ongoing efforts by the gendarmerie to reduce tractor‑related crashes, which are often caused by negligence, inadequate visibility, and missing safety equipment.
