Turkey holds science festivals in İzmir and Beylikdüzü

The International Hypatia Science and Communication Festival will take place from 1 to 5 July 2026 in Seferihisar, İzmir. Organized with support from universities such as Cambridge and Oxford and the Dutch Qutech Lab, the five‑day event will feature presentations, workshops and panels covering quantum physics, artificial intelligence, public health, climate change and more. Activities include telescope observations, film screenings, stand‑up shows and a water‑rocket competition for children. The festival aims to move science communication out of algorithm‑driven digital spaces into a social environment where participants interact directly.

In Istanbul’s Beylikdüzü district, the Beylikdüzü TÜBİTAK 4006‑C Science Fair Festival was held at Yaşam Vadisi for two days. Organized by the Beylikdüzü municipality, the district education directorate and TÜBİTAK, the fair showcased projects by middle‑school and high‑school students, drawing visits from local officials such as the district governor and the mayor’s deputy. The event combined student exhibitions with amateur music performances and youth‑focused activities, aiming to strengthen scientific culture and develop students’ problem‑solving skills.
