Turkey hosts cultural festivals in Istanbul's Bakırköy and Kastamonu

The 27th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival moved to Bakırköy, where the municipality hosted performances by dance groups from Spain, Mexico, Serbia and Slovakia at Cumhuriyet Square. Bakırköy Mayor Doç. Dr. Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu welcomed the artists, and a special message congratulated the Spanish national football team on its World Cup win.

In Kastamonu, the 36th International Taşköprü Culture and Garlic Festival opened with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony attended by Governor Meftun Dallı. The event featured the Pompeiopolis Agricultural, Forestry and Food Fair, highlighted the region’s renowned Taşköprü garlic, and announced a new cold‑storage and digital traceability project to support 4,000 local producer families.
