Turkey hosts Mauritanian students for 2026 Konya Turkish Summer School, says Deputy Minister Ökten

Deputy Minister Celile Eren Ökten welcomed a delegation of Mauritanian university students in Konya as part of the 2026 Konya Turkish Summer School project. The four‑week program provides intensive Turkish language instruction at Karatay University, cultural tours of Bursa’s historic sites, and a visit to Ankara where participants learn about Turkey’s education system and state institutions.

The meeting was attended by Turkey’s Embassy in Nouakchott Education Counselor Adil Taniş and Mauritanian representatives Dean Mohamed Vall Babana and Deputy Dean Ahmed Maouloud El Hilal. Officials highlighted the initiative as a means to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between Turkey and Mauritania, promote Turkish language teaching abroad, and build lasting ties that could lead to future graduate studies and leadership exchanges.
