Turkey hosts technology conferences on AI and digital transformation
Major technology and digital transformation discussions are taking place in Turkey, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence into public services and society.
The 8th Public Information and Communication Technologies Conference (GICTC 2026) is being held at Gebze Bilişim Vadisi. Under the theme “New Generation Public: Digital State 2030 Vision,” the event brings together over 750 participants and 40 speakers to discuss digital sovereignty, cloud systems, and the role of AI in government management. Key sessions also address smart cities through 5G and AI, as well as cybersecurity strategies to protect critical public infrastructure.
Simultaneously, Istanbul Arel University is hosting a congress themed “Digital Flood” to examine the societal impacts of digitalization. This forum focuses on the effects of technology on media, art, and communication, specifically addressing challenges such as disinformation, data privacy, and media ethics. Discussions include the reliability of AI-generated content, the influence of algorithms on information access, and the evolution of journalism in an era of algorithmic editorial processes.
