Turkey increases domestic oil and natural gas production

Turkey is seeing a significant increase in domestic energy production, according to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. In the first half of the year, total domestic oil production reached 23.1 million barrels. The Gabar field accounted for 60% of this total, with 21.8 million barrels produced through Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO).

Natural gas production for the January-June period exceeded 1.641 billion cubic meters. The Sakarya Gas Field contributed 92% of this total. TPAO was responsible for 1.608 billion cubic meters, while the private sector produced 33 million cubic meters.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the country aims to double natural gas production in the Black Sea this year. He emphasized a vision of full energy independence, noting that Turkey is becoming a global player in energy through both domestic and international exploration and production efforts.
