Turkey introduces new digital real estate listing regulations
New regulations in the Turkish real estate sector are introducing a more transparent digital marketing era. According to Sevcan İlici, President of the Investment Professionals and Cooperation Association (YAPİDER), social media information must now strictly match verified listings within the Electronic Real Estate Information System (EİDS). Discrepancies or misleading content may result in administrative sanctions.
The Ministry of Trade's new rules aim to combat unregistered activities while enhancing the competitive edge of authorized real estate consultants. The regulation allows professionals to more effectively showcase portfolios with visual and price details, addressing previous restrictions that limited digital marketing to simple listing links. This shift is expected to provide a stronger trust mechanism for consumers, particularly younger generations who rely heavily on social media for housing research.
