Turkey introduces stricter monitoring of online real estate listings
A new regulation published in the Official Gazette introduces stricter oversight for real estate advertisements posted online in Turkey. Authorities will now closely monitor sale and rental listings, including price changes, advertiser information, and listing activity.
The measure aims to increase market transparency and prevent tax losses by tracking identity, tax, and contact details of advertisers, as well as the dates listings are published or removed.
To combat unregistered transactions and the underreporting of rental income or sale prices, the data collected from digital advertisements will be cross-referenced with official records from land registries, banks, and notaries.
