Turkey's Meteorology Agency issues rain and wind alerts for 21 provinces

On 14 July, Turkey’s Meteorology General Directorate (MGM) released yellow‑code warnings for 21 provinces, including Istanbul, Kastamonu, Karabük and Sinop. The agency forecast thunderstorms and localized heavy rain, warning of possible flash floods, landslides and transport disruptions. Along the South Aegean coast, strong winds of 40‑60 km/h were predicted, prompting cautions for maritime activities and coastal residents. Temperatures were expected to reach 40 °C in the southeast, while the western Black Sea region would see a 2‑6 °C drop. Authorities advised drivers to expect reduced visibility and water‑logged roads, and urged the public vigilance in the highlighted risk areas.
