Turkey issues yellow‑code alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms

The Turkish Meteorology General Directorate issued a yellow‑code warning for the weekend, forecasting thunderstorms and heavy rain across several regions, including Bursa, Bilecik, Kütahya and Eskişehir. The alert notes risks of flash floods, water‑logging, lightning, hail and strong winds, and advises the public to take precautions.

The Interior Ministry also posted a map‑based warning covering five provinces—Bilecik, eastern districts of Bursa, northern Kütahya, western Eskişehir and the southern and western districts of Ankara—detailing expected localised heavy downpours. Authorities warned of potential infrastructure strain, road visibility reductions and urged drivers and residents to remain vigilant.

Both agencies highlighted the need for readiness in areas with limited drainage, emphasizing possible rapid water‑rise, roof damage, tree fall and other micro‑scale hazards.
