Turkey launches 10 MW solar plant in Hakkari and 150 M TL energy upgrade for Muradiye industrial zone

Construction has begun on a 10‑megawatt solar power plant in Hakkari, Turkey. The project, awarded to Öz Kut Enerji under the YEKA competition, covers 150 decares, will install about 20,000 panels and is expected to feed the national grid by the end of October, reducing annual carbon emissions by roughly 8,000 tonnes and creating around 50 jobs. Company chairman İsmail Özdemir said the plant will help meet local energy needs during summer months.

Separately, Muradiye Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (OSB) is receiving a 150‑million‑lira investment to build three new 100 MVA transmission lines from the Morsan Trafo Merkezi. The upgrade aims to eliminate long‑standing power cuts, improve supply reliability for factories, and boost the region’s industrial competitiveness. Muradiye OSB board chair Osman Kıvırcık called the project a strategic benefit for both manufacturers and the national economy.
