Turkey launches AI-supported Cyber Vatan Program for 2027

The Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology has opened applications for the 2027 term of the Cyber Vatan Program. Coordinated through Development Agencies, the initiative aims to increase the digital competencies of young people and address the national need for qualified cybersecurity experts.

The 2027 cycle introduces a new model titled “AI-Supported Cybersecurity Talent Program,” reflecting the growing importance of artificial intelligence in the security sector. University students across all 81 provinces of Turkey are eligible to apply. The program begins with approximately three months of online training designed to establish fundamental cybersecurity skills.

Students who successfully complete the online phase will qualify for in-person training focused on penetration testing and the application of AI in cybersecurity. Following this, participants will compete in a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition to demonstrate their ability to use AI models to solve security problems. High-performing students may also be invited to a seven-day Cyber Vatan BootCamp.

To support participation, the relevant Development Agencies will cover transportation and accommodation expenses for students attending the in-person training sessions within their respective agency's operational region.
