Turkey launches Alo 193 joint damage reporting centre for traffic insurance

The Turkish Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority (SEDDK) has created the Alo 193 Joint Damage Reporting Centre, which will become operational on 1 September. The centre will receive all traffic‑insurance and casco‑insurance claim notifications through a single phone line and will be integrated with every insurer in the country.

Citizens will be able to report claims and also file complaints about irregularities or illegal practices in the insurance sector via the same number. The initiative is presented as a key component of a broader reform programme that includes standardized damage‑calculation methods, vehicle depreciation provisions, a smart expert‑assignment system and measures against unauthorised claim handling. While the centre streamlines the initial reporting process, each insurer will continue to manage claim assessment, expert appointments and compensation through its own internal systems. The goal is to make claim handling faster, easier, more transparent and to strengthen consumer protection in the Turkish insurance market.
