Turkey economic forecasts predict 2027 wage and social security shifts
Economic forecasts for 2027 in Turkey indicate significant shifts in wages and social security costs. Social Security expert Özgür Erdursun predicts the net minimum wage could rise to approximately 35,000 TL, representing a 25 percent increase from current levels.
Civil servant and pensioner salary adjustments are also being calculated based on various inflation scenarios. Depending on whether the Central Bank, the Medium-Term Program, or market participants' inflation targets are met, civil servant raises are projected to range between roughly 6.78 percent and 8.01 percent.
Additionally, experts have issued warnings regarding social security obligations. Dilek Ete advised individuals planning for military or maternity debt payments to complete them before January to avoid higher costs linked to the anticipated minimum wage increase. Regarding severance pay, Melis Elmen noted that for employees on commission-based systems, calculations must include the average of annual premiums rather than just the final month's earnings to ensure legal compliance.
