Turkey mining exports reach $4.7 billion in first eight months of 2026
The Turkish mining sector demonstrated strong performance during the first eight months of 2026, with mineral exports reaching $4.729 billion. This represents a 19.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Metin Çekiç, President of the Istanbul Mining Exporters Association, stated that the industry aims to close 2026 with $7 billion in total exports. He noted that if existing obstacles are removed, Turkey has the potential to reach $30 billion in mining exports due to its diverse reserves and production capabilities.
To achieve these goals, industry representatives emphasized the need for a predictable and sustainable investment environment. Key priorities include encouraging new investments, expanding current production capacity, increasing value-added production, and strengthening the global competitiveness of exporters through cooperation with the public sector.
