Turkey Holds Hafız Ceremonies in Trabzon, Prepares Courses in Bozyazı

A public icazet ceremony was held at Hanife Hatun Mosque in Trabzon for 623 students who completed hafız (Quran memorization) training. The event was attended by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Trabzon Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, the provincial governor, university rector and other officials. Uraloğlu said, "Kur'an-ı Kerim sadece okunacak veya ezberlenecek bir kitap değil; doğumdan ölüme kadar hayatımıza rehberlik eden bir ilahi kılavuzdur," emphasizing the Qur’an’s role as a lifelong guide.

In the Bozyazı district of Mersin, district mufti Yakup Avcı inspected the Denizciler Girls Hafız Kursu and the Tekeli Mehmet Akif Ersoy Boys Hafız Kursu as they prepared for a new education term. He observed Qur’an recitations, reviewed the curriculum – which includes memorisation, repetition, tajweed, moral instruction and supplementary activities such as guidance counselling, reading clubs, sports and values education – and stressed that "Hafızlık süreci sabır, disiplin ve güzel ahlak kazandıran önemli bir eğitimdir." The visits highlighted the holistic approach to religious education in the region.
