Turkey Ministry of National Education updates teacher extra lesson fees

The Turkish Ministry of National Education has updated extra lesson fees and opened applications for extracurricular educational activities for the new academic term. Teachers can now apply to lead social, artistic, or scientific activities, potentially earning up to 6 additional hours of pay per week, totaling 24 hours per month.

Standard daytime extra lesson rates have been set at 220.57 TL per hour. However, rates vary significantly based on specialization and academic qualifications. Support and Training Course (DYK) instructors receive approximately 440-441 TL per hour, while special education teachers earn about 275 TL. Teachers with doctoral degrees receive 264 TL per hour, and those with master's degrees receive between 235 and 236 TL.

For the month of September, all teachers are entitled to 15 hours of pay for professional seminar sessions. Additionally, preschool, first-grade, and fifth-grade teachers who participated in student orientation weeks are eligible for an additional 15 hours of pay, bringing their total for the period to 30 hours. Final net payments will depend on individual tax brackets and specific duties such as duty shifts or planning time.
