Turkey announces 2027 plan to hire 31,054 contracted health personnel

A Presidential decree published in the Official Gazette has established the plan for the employment of 31,054 contracted health personnel in Turkey for the year 2027. The decision aims to ensure effective and efficient health services, particularly in regions facing difficulties in staff procurement.

The planned workforce includes 25,955 specialist physicians and 5,061 physicians. Other roles include 25 health officers, 9 midwives, 2 nurses, 1 dietitian, and 1 health technician. The vast majority of these positions, 31,040, are allocated to inpatient treatment services (hospitals), with the remainder distributed among district health directorates, community health centers, health houses, and emergency health services.

In a separate context, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu has indicated that the Ministry is also planning a large-scale recruitment of non-physician personnel following the 2026 KPSS results, with targets potentially reaching up to 35,000 staff by the end of 2026. While the 2027 contracted personnel numbers are now official, candidates are advised to wait for formal application guides from the Ministry and ÖSYM regarding specific timelines and requirements.
