Turkey opens public sector employment applications for former military personnel

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has launched the pre-application process for former contracted non-commissioned officers and privates to be employed in public institutions for 2027. This process is specifically for those who have completed at least seven years of service within the Turkish Armed Forces and meet certain eligibility criteria.

Eligible candidates must have a positive qualification certificate, must not have turned 41 as of October 31, 2026, and must not have previously been appointed to a public position under Law No. 6191. Depending on institutional quotas and needs, candidates may be evaluated for various roles, including neighborhood watchmen, municipal police, firefighters, prison and protection officers, forest guards, administrative supervision personnel, security guards, drivers, and support staff.

Applications must be submitted online through the Ministry of National Defense Personnel Procurement system using e-Devlet credentials. The application period began on September 22, 2026, and will conclude on October 12, 2026, at 23:30. Applications submitted via mail, letter, or petition will not be considered.
