Turkish military and public sector recruitment
Overview
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has initiated multiple recruitment processes for various military and public sector roles.
In early October 2026, the Ministry opened applications for former contracted non-commissioned officers and privates with at least seven years of service to transition into public sector roles for 2027. Eligible candidates must have a positive qualification certificate and must not have turned 41 as of October 31, 2026. Depending on institutional needs, candidates may be evaluated for roles such as municipal police, firefighters, prison officers, forest guards, and security guards. Applications for these positions are submitted online via the Ministry of National Defense Personnel Procurement system and conclude on October 12, 2026.
Concurrently, the Ministry announced the recruitment of 346 officer candidates for the Land, Naval, and Air Force Commands, with applications accepted via e-Devlet until October 20, 2026. This quota includes 219 permanent officers for the National Defense University—comprising 163 teachers and 56 engineers—and 127 positions for medical professionals (85 general practitioners and 6 dentists) and 36 physical education teachers for national athletes. Requirements for academic roles include minimum ALES or YDS scores, while medical and athletic professionals are exempt from certain testing requirements.
By late October 2026, the Ministry released military classification results for the November 2026 intake, determining assignment locations for reserve officers, reserve non-commissioned officers, and privates. Deployment for the first group is scheduled for November 5, 2026, with subsequent groups of privates scheduled for December 2026 and January 2027.
