Turkey outlines new forest fire prevention measures in Bursa and Bilecik

The Saadet Party’s Bursa provincial branch released an analysis report urging preventive planning, stronger inter‑agency coordination, and the use of technologies such as AI‑driven early‑warning systems, drones and digital risk maps to reduce forest fire risk. Party deputy chairman Nebi Yurtsever emphasized the need for protective buffer zones, enforcement of safe distances for construction near forests, and rapid access routes for firefighting crews.

In Bilecik’s Gölpazarı district, a coordination meeting chaired by Kaymakam Feyza Nur Kılıç gathered public officials and local businesses to set strict rules banning open‑flame activities near forests and to consolidate personnel and equipment for faster response. The meeting also pledged legal action against violations and continuous monitoring of picnic and commercial sites during the summer months.
