Turkey-Philippines trade exceeds $400 million, ATO says

Ankara Trade Chamber (ATO) President Gürsel Baran announced that total bilateral trade between Turkey and the Philippines has passed the $400 million mark. He specified that Turkish exports to the Philippines amounted to $166 million while imports from the Philippines stood at $275 million.

Baran highlighted that the trade relationship also includes a $628 million defense‑industry exchange recorded in 2022 and pointed to further opportunities in minerals, agriculture, tourism, technology and infrastructure. He recalled the 2011 agreement that created the Turkey‑Philippines Business Council and noted its latest meeting held in Manila on 22‑25 September 2025.

Philippine Ambassador to Turkey, Jaime Ramon Torre Ascalon Jr., and Third Clerk Emile Josef B. Garcia visited Baran to discuss ways to deepen economic ties. The ambassador emphasized the presence of about 8,000 Filipinos living in Turkey and the cultural‑tourism potential of a scheduled food festival.
