Turkey poll shows Özgür Özel's new party tops, AKP second

A MetroPoll survey conducted between 15‑25 June 2026 with 1,165 participants found the Justice and Development Party (AKP) leading at 31.1 % of the vote, while the Republican People’s Party (CHP) fell to 27.5 %. When respondents were asked how they would vote if a new party led by Özgür Özel entered the race, that hypothetical party received 33.8 % of the vote, placing it first, with AKP dropping to second at 27 % and a Kılıçdaroğlu‑led CHP sliding to just 5 %.

A separate Özdemir Araştırma poll on the same month asked whom voters would support for a possible nationalist‑democrat alliance presidential candidate. Former mayor Mansur Yavaş topped that list, followed by DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan, who saw his support rise to 8.1 %.

Both polls highlight shifting voter preferences ahead of the next parliamentary election, showing strong volatility around leadership and alliance scenarios.
